We have just had a bank holiday here… Much of the traditional English May Day celebrations still live on outside out towns here and so I got to watch some dancing around the maypole and crowning of the local May day Princess… Lovely to see.
So as I gear up for this shortened week, I see that there are other celebrity hypnotists emerging… And I am not just referring to Paul McKenna… Ever found yourself hypnotised by certain pop music tracks?
Apparently, it could be happening a lot more from here onwards… Let me explain…
According to this press association clipping… It would seem that while working together, Justin Timberlake has been teaching fellow pop star Ciarra (the Promise singer) all about hypnosis. Hmmm… I always knew there was a reason the women swoon when he sings! 😉
So JT has been helping Ciarra develop her skills, Ciarra is quoted in the Daily Star newspaper, saying:
“Hooking up with Justin Timberlake taught me all about hypnosis and how to get into people’s minds — my new single Love Sex Magic is all about using your imagination and having fun with it, now, thanks to JT, I feel I can almost hypnotise the listener, take you to another place and tease you.”
I am not sure if this is a good thing… Young pop stars knowing how to hypnotise!? I kid of course, I think it is wonderful to think of musicians and music stars using language and stimulating the imagination of listeners to create a more fully engaging experience.
I have been transported to other places by music, I guess we all have, I have memories evoked, I have experiences heightened… As we all do, I am sure… maybe JT and co are heralding in a new era of music for the generations ahead? We’ll see…
