I wrote to all my students this morning to tell them that I had a spring in my step at the prospect of some time away from the training room… I have spent 13 days of the last month in the same rooms at the refurbished Marsham Court hotel and although I love the place and the people, it is good to know we have a bunch of Bank Holiday weekends on the cards before I am there again.

(Those of you on my self-hypnosis there in two weeks, I don’t count you, that seminar is far too much fun!)

This weekend, among many other things, we looked at using hypnosis and hypnotherapy for pain management. I demonstrated glove anaesthesia on two of my students at the same time and put pins through their hands/arms – both stated openly that they felt no pain whatsoever, no discomfort at all throughout or after the process.

It was fascinating to see and feel the difference in the temperature of their arms in reaction to the anaesthesia too. For those of you that are members here, there is a video of me performing this procedure in the members area for all members to watch and learn from.

It really does add confidence, depth of belief and some great enjoyment to experience this kind of application of hypnosis and to see the potential for other related applications.

There is something else I wanted to write about today though, you regular readers know how I like to keep you abreast of celebrity endorsements of hypnosis and hypnotherapy when they appear in the media. Well, here is one such endorsement…

Go Compare tenor Gio Compario needed hypnotherapy to cure his nerves before he became a TV ad star. Speaking to Nick Ferrari for The Classic FM Interview at 7pm tonight, he confesses: “I suffered from very, very bad stage fright for about a year.” Here is the man himself, boldly, bravely walloping out his tune that rings through households around the UK every single night…

The blog will get back to some more educational entries as this week progresses, I assure you. I’ll be back tomorrow…
