A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about the value of using evidence in my own hypnotherapy work with my clients… I got a couple of straw man arguments back, a couple of personal attacks on me from those believing hypnotherapy is purely an art form, and I also got several of these kinds of responses:

“The men in white coats can’t measure the human spirit”

Well, I hardly thought that was relevant, but none the less, I heard it. I listened.

And I also got a comment like this:

“What about love, you can’t be scientific about love.”

Well, as of today, this is changing my friend.

Over at the Physorg website, they have just published this article that states the following:

A new meta-analysis study conducted by Syracuse University Professor Stephanie Ortigue is getting attention around the world. The groundbreaking study, “The Neuroimaging of Love,” reveals falling in love can elicit not only the same euphoric feeling as using cocaine, but also affects intellectual areas of the brain. Researchers also found falling in love only takes about a fifth of a second.

So there… Put that in your pipe and smoke it!   😉  Putting love under the scientific microscope, eh?

Talking of evidence… The latest edition of my new evidence based hypnosis podcast will be available later today. You can search for “Adam Eason Evidence Based Hypnosis” at iTunes and subscribe for free, or whatever podcast software you use, you can paste this feed into it and listen accordingly:
