It is not actually a description of hypnotherapy I offered up here… It is a fundamental philosophical debate and discussion at the heart of the field of hypnotherapy that I have been exploring.

Some people worry that they are going to be “under the spell” of the hypnotherapist but actually you are completely aware of what is being said and are in complete control at all time. All the hypnotherapist can do is offer your unconscious mind suggestions, it is then up to you if you choose to accept them or not.
