So last year we all saw pop singer Lily Allen credit hypnosis with her weight reduction and seeming transformation in dress size. I wrote about it and was delighted that someone with her profile was championing hypnotherapy.
And guess what? She’s at it again! Yay!
Lily Allen is expecting her first child — I reckon that should be motivation enough, however, she is turning to hypnosis again to kick the smoking habit now that she is pregnant.
Lots of places are writing about this.
This hypnosis article at Top News in Entertainment reports that:
“She wants to crack this. She realises it will be a struggle but her baby is more important,” The Sun quoted one friend, as saying.
The pal added that the singer was also aware of the influence she had over people, especially kids, and wanted to be a good role model.
“Lily is aware that she is a role model and wants to portray a positive image of herself for young people to look up to,” the pal said.
I am delighted that she is going to be a great role model for kids and a great role model for those hoping to use hypnotherapy to make progressive changes in their lives naturally.
I was really surprised the first time I saw an interview with Lily Allen. When her music first made it big in the States she seemed like another rebellious pop star headed for an inevitable downward spiral into multiple rehab stints, but she quickly developed a reputation for being not just crass, but witty, and willing to really look at things. I’m not surprised that she’s being more vocal about hypnosis and quitting smoking for her child’s health. It’s still cutting-edge enough to be cool, plus it really does fit with her trying to be a good example. I think the world has had enough of the Britney Spears/Amy Winehouse/(insert self-destructive celebrity here) mold, and so it’s good PR (and good karma) to make a statement about how you can be both edgy and healthy.
Not to mention considerate of others rather than self-absorbed…
