I’m hopeless at picking up the words of songs. I’ll know maybe one line and have to dum-de-dum or la-la-la along to the rest of it…or get it completely (and often embarrassingly) wrong. I’ll have the tune and rhythm perfect but the words (especially of the more recent stuff) often escape me. Even if I don’t seem to be picking up on them, are they still influencing me? Remember someone claiming that Avril Lavigne was very depressing…and I was just staring at him in disbelief because all that had filtered through (consciously anyway) was “he was a skater boy…” 🙂 What do you think?
