I am back from a week away and thought I’d ease myself back into the blogging process that forms part of my working day with a run-down of what Katie and I got up to while we were away, illustrated with snaps from my phone.

We went ‘glamping’ in a yurt, here is the one we stayed in, set in farmlands in the English countryside (there was plenty of ‘mooing’ going on at night which was nothing to do with us!):

Yurts are traditional tents used by nomadic people in far away places usually, but these are permanent and have decking and barbequeue areas, a communal kitchen lodge, their own toilets and shower and glorious wood burning stoves inside:

So very unlike ‘proper’ camping. (My friends that we usually camp with told us that this Yurt business was not ‘proper’ camping! You know, it’s not because you don’t have the bowie knife from the ads, that you are not proper camping.)

Here is me getting acquainted with our welcome instructions on the bed:

And here is the view from the front door of the Yurt looking out into the Somerset countryside:

We visited West Bay just outside Bridport, and went to Hive Bay (i ate fresh sardines in the Hive Bay restaurant one lunchtime which were sensational) just along the Jurassic coast from there and walked along the Coastal Trail Pathway with it’s beautiful scenery. Here I am pulling a Grattans Catalogue pose:

We visited Lyme Regis, and you can’t help loving those old school seaside towns of England, here is Katie overlooking the equally beautiful coastline in the centre of Lyme Regis:

As well as eating and drinking at some gloriously traditional pubs, we also visited the famous River Cottage canteen in Axminster and quaffed Elderflower Champagne, and ate so well it is making me drool thinking of it again…

We reluctantly headed home, and thankfully got some sunshine and got to spend some time at our beach hut here in Bournemouth, I had taken the handkerchief off my head at this stage of the day:

Then it was my birthday at the weekend, we danced the night away with friends in Meyrick Park, locally to the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra playing Disco Classics (the Bony M Medley was so much fun!) we waved out glow sticks, ate our picnics, drank our favourite wine and sang and cheered at the fireworks… And that is it in as much of a nutshell as I can do without sending you all to the land of nod… The blog will be a fully functioning hypnosis blog again as of tomorrow, but now at least you know what I was up to this last week while away from here….
