Networking Events and Ongoing Development for Hypnotherapists

I run two very different, though equally fun and beneficial regular events for hypnotherapists looking to network with other hypnotherapists, develop skills and benefit from sharing experience, knowledge and support.

Peer Support Group For Hypnotherapists

Every quarter, here in Bournemouth I host and organise a Hypnotherapy Peer Supervision and support group. Qualified hypnotherapists from Dorset, Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex, London and further afield attend.

We have a speaker at each meeting who talks on a subject related to hypnosis, hypnotherapy and self-hypnosis, we then get to do a question and answers session with that speaker. Following that, we open the floor to discuss any ongoing hypnotherapy client issues and/or discuss our hypnotherapy business challenges and successes.

The events are designed to support one another, share ideas, enhance our knowledge and develop our skills.

The evenings also offer up GHR approved CPD (continued professional development) for hypnotherapists needing a certain number of hours, so those looking to meet those needs can do so here. Get in touch with me to get the relevant forms that will need to be submitted to the General Hypnotherapy Register to get your CPD logged accordingly.

Our speakers have been real experts in their fields, usually charging very high fees for their speaking events. Despite this, there is a nominal fee for attendance which is a paltry £3.50 to cover the cost of the venue. You get Brownie points for bringing the right change on the night!

For a full list of upcoming dates and the brilliant speakers we have booked in, please do get in touch with me from one of the pages of this website and as long as you are a qualified hypnotherapist, you can get involved.

We also gather in the hotel bar afterwards for networking and discussing the topics on hand, so is beneficial on many levels.

Our next event’s are scheduled for Wednesdays March the 7th, June the 6th, September the 5th and December the 5th in 2012 and we have  internationally renowned author’s and fabulous speakers lined up that you won’t want to miss.

Bournemouth Hypnosis Geek Dinners

So if you are into hypnosis, hypnotherapy, self-hypnosis, modern psychology, the workings of the mind… As well as those of you that like using hypnosis for entertainment (which I do not necessarily advocate) then you may have found a couple of things occur in your life:

1. Those closest to you do not share your enthusiasm for these subjects.

2. Those you come in to contact with the most frequently, do not want to have in depth conversations about these subjects.

3. Outside of courses, seminars and online forums, there are not huge numbers of people to engage with about these subjects.

I am a bit of a hypnosis geek. Some of my close friends are too. I am in the fortunate position that I get to chat about hypnosis and those related subjects often because I teach the subject and I hang out with lots of people who also teach and love the subject.

So we are running something called a ‘Geek Dinner’ where we are inviting anyone interested in the subject of hypnosis to join myself and fellow hypnotists and hypnotherapists to meet up for dinner and get to talk all things hypnosis…

Here is the deal for our next upcoming hypnosis geek dinner then, I am going to have dinner with my friend, magician and performance hypnotist James Brown on Thursday the 22nd of March in a Bournemouth hotel’s private dining room. We are going to discuss, debate and argue what we think on the subjects of hypnosis and related topics. We are going to indulge ourselves in our favourite subjects and defend our perspectives whilst remaining mildly flexible to altering our thought processes. We are going to laugh, eat, drink and be merry… And you are invited to come along.

We have a couple of themes lined up, it’ll get racy but never cross the line… I’ll argue from a healthily sceptical perspective, citing evidence and professional therapeutic stances on the use and application of hypnosis… James will attempt to distract you with his performance skills and magicians philosophy, though neither of us is trying to win anything… There’ll be no prizes, just an opportunity to share and discuss and learn from each other whilst sharing some fun and laughter too.

There is also a chance that once the heated discussion ends that some skills will be demonstrated in public places too…

If you fancy joining in the fun and games, then get in touch with me and I’ll tell you where to be… We host this event every 6-8 weeks or so and all you’ll need to pay is the minimal price of dinner, and let us know in plenty of time so that we can book the right number of places at the table…

As I mentioned previously, our next event is Thursday the 22nd of March at 7pm at a Bournemouth hotel. Get in touch to book yourself in and get further details.

I look forward to welcoming you on board to either of these ongoing events.
