It is compelling to watch…I mean watching Michael Phelps tear the competition apart as he motors through the water with such seeming ease… Knocking up more world records and gold medals to become the Olympian with the most gold medals in history.

For the second day in a row, I am going to tell you what I shall not be writing about today before getting on with matters at hand…
No, no, no… I shall not be writing about the fact that Radio 1 are airing 12 hours live of the Creamfields dance festival and no I shall not be mentioning the fact that DJ Judge Jules is going to be hypnotised to regress and recall all his best memories from the previous years of Creamfields… Hahaha… I am going to have to listen to that when it airs…

No… No… and No again… I am not going to write about the absolutely crazy depiction of a hypnotist and NLP trained individual on last nights BBC1 programme ‘New Tricks’ - lots of my peers thought it was harmful, I just thought it was idiculous nd verging on hilarious… Instead, I am going for gold.

Yesterday our 14 year old starlet in the diving arena, Tom Daly, who is from the south coast near me, came last in the diving pairs 10m dive. His partner blamed him. They were not synchronised enough, they had a bad day and heck, they can be forgiven.
The lad is 14 years old. He goes in his single event soon with the weight of expectation and I really feel for him… We have so few medal chances that the pressure is piled on to these youngsters!
By all accounts, it is not nearly as much as the Chinese athletes who are having all kinds of remedies given to them to stop the pressure exploding… (more…)
So I last blogged on my birthday and I celebrated my birthday… We had a LOT of fun… Then the next day we attended a beautiful wedding of a close friend, then spent time with family, then shouted at my TV as the new football season began, then did some work in the garden… And by the end of all that, I needed my own bed…
Yes indeed, we went to bed very early last night so that I could be fresh for the demanding and busy week ahead… Someone else had other ideas…
Our cat jumped on top of us on several occasions in the night… Purred, meeowed, prodded me and preened himself in between Katie and I and when I gave him his breakfast early this morning, I found it tough to smile at him in the usual way… Needless to say that he won’t be allowed upstairs tonight…
However, there are many health benefits to be gained from having Spooky in our life and home according to an interesting piece of research… (more…)
